8x8 using every square. 18 men each in a trapezoid (8-6-4).

Move forward (straight or diagonally). Lines of men can advance together one square.

Orthogonal short jumps only. Kings capture rookwise at distance. Majority is mandatory.

Play on all 64 squares. Each side starts with 18 men arranged as a trapezoid: a full back row of 8, then 6, then a tip of 4.

Men move only forward: straight ahead or diagonally forward.
A straight unbroken line of your men may advance one square together (linear movement), including a single man.
Kings move any distance in eight directions, like a chess queen, when not capturing.

All captures are orthogonal (rank or file) - never diagonal.
Men capture by short leap forward, backward, or sideways.
Kings capture by long leap along ranks and files only.
Captures are compulsory; only maximum-length lines are legal (majority).
When several lines share that maximum length, you may choose any of them.
In a multi-jump, captured pieces stay until the turn ends (Coup Turc) and may not be jumped twice.

A man that ends its turn on the opponent back rank becomes a king.

Passing the back rank during a capture without finishing there does not promote.
